On 5 November 2021, the “Pilot 9+2 – The 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Development Forum and Award Ceremony” was jointly organised by the Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group, the Federation of Hong Kong Guangdong Community Organisations, the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, the Chinese Banking Association of Hong Kong, and the Greater Bay Area FinTech Promotion Association in Hong Kong. Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR, Mr. Yin Zonghua, and Chairman of the Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group, Mr. Jiang Zaizhong, attended the forum and delivered speeches. Chairman of the Association, Mr. Sun Yu, was the Guest of Honour at the event. In his speech, Mr. Sun pointed out that the “Overall Plan for the Construction of Hengqin-Guangdong-Macao Deep Co-operation Zone” and the “Plan for Comprehensively Deepening the Reform and Opening of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Co-operation Zone” announced by the State and the “Northern Metropolis Development Strategy” proposed by the HKSAR Government have expanded the scope of the Bay Area in terms of both geographical space and institutional mechanism, which has created new impetus to the development of Hong Kong.
